SIKANDER - PUNJABI MOVIE REVIEW

PFP RATING 4/5

SIKANDER is one of the most talked about projects of PUNJABI CINEMA this year. It is directed by Jatinder Mauhar who gave an all time favourite film MITTI to the Punjabi audience.

SIKANDER stars Kartar Cheema in the lead role and also brings Gul Panag to the Punjabi cinema screen for the first time along with many new comers including Raj Singh Jhinger, Garv Moudgill, Jatinder Sharma and others..

Lets get onto what it is all about. Sikander is a story of 3 groups of students who have different values and morals. They stand in the university elections and want to capture further in a blink.

Beant Kaur's (Gul Panag) group is small but talks of important factors on the basis of truth and reality.

Sikander's (Kartar Cheema) group is very strong and has the support of leaders and most importantly all the friends, who are willing to do anything for each other.

Harjang's (Yaad Grewal) group has been winning these elections for the past many years.

How these three groups cross paths with each other and what turns out as the result is the way the story flows..

Direction of the film is excellent. Hats off to Jatinder Mauhar.

The characterization is absolutely brilliant. Every character has an important role in the film.

Music is Good as well. Yari te sardari, Challa and Hooter are the top three songs from the film.

Story of the film is good but could have been portrayed even better would the editing have been a little bit better. There are some scenes where you feel the film is deliberately shortened.

Acting side of the film is fantastic. Gul Panag is superb. Kartar Cheema is Excellent. Raj Singh Jhinger as Laala will be remembered. Yaad Grewal will be loved even more after this. Victor John has done a decent job. Nishawn Bhullar looks good in a small role.

Our verdict is that the film will impress the youth the most but has a strong message for every human. This is a film that actually takes the Punjabi Cinema further that has been at a halt, stuck with all the comedy flicks for the last few years now.

Take a break from regular films and be a part of SIKANDER. It surely is worth a watch. So GO FOR IT.
